Profile

Vekaa  was founded in Paris in 2018 as the confluence of the different trajectories and experiences in the sphere of the european mobility. In this new space of interchange, Vekaa founds new ways to build  a qualified architecture aimed at solving the technical and functional challenges, always in a harmonic way with its context and environment.

The practice has worked internationally in public and private projects, and its works has received several prestigious distinctions. Its works includes cultural, educational and residential buildings as well as urban projects.

Consciously international in its outlook, with approximately 10 people from different countries, most of our collaborators have grown professionally within the practice, and this allow us to have a strong experience of working in a collaborative manner. The background and skills of all collaborators allow the practice to have a wide range of perspectives, which guarantees as a core aim the delivering of projects of the highest calibre.

Team

Aritz Almenar (1979 Valencia, Spain) studied architecture at the Escuela Superior de Arquitectura de Valencia (Spain), graduating with a structural engineering speciality in the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia.

After graduating he decided to move to Paris (France) with a Leonardo de Vinci Scholarship award in 2009, which led him to collaborate with the Dubuisson architecture studio as Project Manager, and than with Mcbad architectes in 2010 as a Project Coordinator until 2018.

Aritz has worked as an assistant Professor in the Project Department of the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia.

Rebecca Levy (1988, Paris, France) obtained her HMONP accreditation at the Paris School of Malaquais after graduating from the Paris Special School of Architecture in 2011 and from the Columbia University MSAAD Master Program in New York in 2013.

After graduating from Columbia, she worked for 2 years in New York for the SBJ Group before moving to London where she worked 2 years for Studio Egret West. These professional experiences included large-scale projects such as the construction of a Manhattan hotel, a large complex of houses, offices and restaurants in London Borough of Hackney, as well as the completion of several London city urban plans.

Juan Jose Baena (1981 Valencia, Spain) studied architecture at the Escuela Superior de Arquitectura de Valencia (Spain), completing his graduation with a structural engineering speciality in the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia.

After his graduation, he moved to Sevilla (Spain) with the “Fundación Caja de arquitectos” Scholarship award in 2007 , that led him to collaborate with Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra in Seville (Spain) as Project Coordinator.

Juan José is designated in the list of the bests spanish young architects promoted by the Fundación de Arquitectura contemporánea del Ministerio de Cultura de España and has worked as an Assistant Professor for the International Workshop "Arquitectura Blanca" at the University of Seville (Spain).

 

Marta Gómez  (1974 Sevilla, Spain) studied achitecture at the University of Seville (Spain) completing his graduation with the Erasmus scholarship award in 2006 at the Università degli Studi di Roma "La Sapienza" (Italy).

After her degree she moved to London (United Kingdom) to collaborate with Glenn Howells Architects, and later Associated Architects. Returning to Seville she joined Cruz y Ortiz arquitectos and worked on different projects in the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain. ​

Marta is a designated Project Manager Professional by the PMI.

 

Joanna Jedrus  (1979 Katowice, Poland) studied Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology of Gliwice  (Poland), completing his graduation with the Erasmus scholarship award in year at the Università di Bologna (Italy).

After her degree she moved to Seville (Spain) with “Fundación Caja de arquitectos” Scholarship award in 2007 , that led her to collaborate with Guillermo Vázquez Consuegra in Seville (Spain) as Project Coordinator. 

Joanna has earned the Architectural and Construction Professional Qualification by the Chamber of Architects (Poland), designated Passivhaus Designer and has worked as an Assistant Professor for the International Workshop "Arquitectura Blanca" at the University of Seville (Spain).
